From the President's Desk
Dear Valued PMIGL Members,
I trust this message finds you well.
I would like to start by congratulating newly elected Chapter Vice Presidents Suja Joseph, Michelle Baker, and Srini Pinnamanei for a 2-year term from 2025 to 2026. Their passion and dedication will undoubtedly help guide our chapter to continued success, and I look forward to the exciting initiatives we’ll be working on together.
Looking ahead, we have some exciting global events on the horizon. First, the PMI Global Summit on September 18th-21st in Los Angeles is a premier gathering of thought leaders and professionals worldwide, offering a valuable opportunity to network, learn, and collaborate. Following that, the PMO Unconference on December 9th-10th in Istanbul is a unique event fostering open dialogue, knowledge sharing, and experience exchange. Locally, I’m happy to share that Professional Development Day on October 18th, 2024, is a great chance to enhance your skills and connect with fellow members.
As always, continue to engage and advance our PM community by participating in networking, educational, and community events!
Yours sincerely,
Anthony Amalraj, MBA, PgMP®

Better Together Project Team Update
With the support of some of the Faculty at CMU, the Better Together Project Team was able to run a version of the PM Skills for Life workshop on the Central Michigan University campus on August 24th.
We believe it was a success and we ended up with 27 registrations, and 11 total participants. The participants had a fantastic time and were incredibly engaged with the material. They asked questions, gave their thoughts, and even took part in some debate amongst themselves.
All our participants were international students, hailing from countries such as Nepal, India, and China, as well as a few others. They were also all new to Central Michigan University, so this event ended up being a great way for new students to get acclimated to the school, meet new friends, network, and learn more about project management.
The only slight complication we had was time. We had to skip some of the exercises because other exercises and discussions ended up running over their original planned time frame.
We also received some more interest in the overall Better Together program.
